Printing raster files

Once you have found the drawing that you would like to print (See How to search ), press the print icon on the Image Toolbar (For a description on how to print sets of drawings, see Printing an User-Set).

This will bring up the standard print dialog for your Windows printer. In this dialog you can specify whether you want to print the content of the Image View (by choosing Selection) or to print the whole Drawing (by choosing All). You also have the option to setup your printer (by choosing Properties), to specify the number of copies and with some printer models you can enable collate printing. Upon clicking on OK, a window with a preview of the result will be displayed. In a secondary window you can select the Fit to page option or set the scaling. Clicking OK in this window will send the image to the printer.

Fit to page will enlarge or reduce the image to fit on the paper size of the printer keeping the aspect ratio intact. You could achieve the same result by manually setting the scale, but by selecting Fit to page Orbit Front will calculate the scale that ensures the largest possible utilization of the printing area without distorting the aspect ration of the image.

Scaling will allow you to control the output size on the paper. Setting scale to 1:1 will produce an output that matches the size of the paper when it was scanned Orbit Front takes scanning dpi and output dpi into consideration when printing the image using scaling.

Printing multi-page files will give you the possibility to specify the range of pages to print. When printing multi-page files, the print preview only shows the first page. You should therefore, when printing more than one page from a multi-page, not use the print selection feature, as this could produce unwanted effects in the prints of the remaining pages.
