To install Orbit Front, you first of all have to insert the Orbit CD into your CD drive. This will start the setup script. If the drives autorun feature has been disabled you should run setup.exe from the root directory of your CD drive.
The first thing you have to decide is which language to use for the installation process. This is done by choosing from a list of available languages. For some regions only one language is supported. In this case no language selection is displayed.
The next step, after reviewing the welcome message and the Orbit license agreement, is to enter your name and company name.
At this point you will have to decide where to install the Orbit programs. The installation process defaults to
“C:\Program Files\Auga\Orbit”
but you can easily change this path. The next step is to decide which programs to install. The Orbit product line consists of many programs, but you only need to install the programs you need.
Additional viewers are not part of the Orbit family but works well with the Orbit programs. Each viewer typically adds the ability to display and print a file format that is not covered by the standard Orbit viewer. It is recommended to install these viewers even if you do not plan to use them initially. Copy the installation program for each viewer to your system to install later on, should the need arise. The installation programs should be located in
“C:\Program Files\Auga\Orbit\Viewers”
When building distribution CD’s with Orbit Front CD all local additional viewers are copied to the directory where the CD was built. The recipient of the CD will have the option to install these viewers as well as utilizing them from within the Orbit Front CD program.
The last thing to decide before all files are copied to your system is where to place the Orbit icons under the Start menu. Auga\Orbit is the default folder name, but you can enter a different location if you wish.
As a separate step, after copying all files to your system, the hardware lock driver is installed. After doing that, special installation instructions for the various additional viewers are displayed and finally you are asked if you want to reboot your machine. This is strongly recommended.
